John's Sporting Goods Fishing Guide helps anglers view fishing maps, conditions, regulations, saved waypoints, trip logs, and AI-assisted fishing recommendations.
Information we collect
- Account information such as email address, display name, username, login provider identifiers, and encrypted authentication tokens.
- Location information, including precise or approximate coordinates, when you use map, weather, tides, marine conditions, waypoint, trip planning, or Fish Scout features.
- User-generated content such as saved waypoints, trip plans, visit logs, notes, catch details, sharing settings, and optional visit photos.
- App activity needed to operate and improve the service, such as feature usage, support/debug events, and server request metadata.
How we use information
We use this information to provide account access, maps, fishing conditions, saved fishing locations, trip logs, waypoint sharing, AI fishing recommendations, app security, support, and service reliability.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information only with service providers needed to run the app, when a user chooses to share a waypoint, or when required by law.
Security
The service is served over HTTPS on our Cloudflare-protected domain. Passwords are stored as hashes, not plain text. Authentication tokens are used to protect account features.
Data deletion
You can request or perform account deletion at https://api.sportinggoodsfishing.com/account/delete. Deletion removes or anonymizes account information and user-generated content associated with the account, subject to legal and security retention requirements.
